Using a Different Manufacturer’s Mask with the AirMini
While the design of the ResMed AirMini and its tubing limit the amount of masks that can be used with it to just 5 ResMed mask options, it is possible to use your AirMini with a mask from a different manufacturer. Keep in mind, using an incompatible non-ResMed mask runs the risk of voiding ResMed's warranty of the AirMini. Remember that it is vital to review and adhere to the limited warranty and overall warranty policies to ensure you are still in compliance, if using a non-ResMed mask.
Also, keep the following in mind when purchasing a mask to use with this device:
• Using a mask other than one of the 5 compatible options listed above will mean you forfeit the waterless humidification. The HumidX filters were specifically designed to be used in each of the 5 AirMini Mask Connectors and these Connectors are only available for the 5 masks listed above. AirMini Mask Connectors do not fit onto the elbow or tubing connection of any other mask.
• You’ll need to purchase an additional item. The AirMini is exclusively compatible with its own tubing. Unlike your standard CPAP machine’s tubing which is compatible with all masks, the AirMini Tubing can only be used with the 5 AirMini-compatible masks. So, to use the ResMed AirMini with an older ResMed mask or a mask from a different manufacturer, you’ll need to purchase an adapter that allows you to use standard CPAP tubing in order to use your favorite mask.
• There’s no guarantee that your machine will perform as well. Since the AirMini Travel CPAP Machine was very specifically designed, there’s no way to be sure that your device will work as well when used with non-AirMini, non-ResMed, and non-travel machine components. It’s important to consider that ResMed created these compatible masks with the best mask fit in mind in relation to this machine.
