Resmed AirFit™ F30 Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear Overview

The first thing you’ll notice about the Resmed AirFit™ F30 full face CPAP mask is that it’s much smaller than you’d expect from a full face mask! The innovative UltraCompact™ cushion seals over the mouth, but under the nose, similar to a nasal mask. This offers a smaller profile and prevents discomfort on the bridge of the nose. Yet studies by Resmed showed that the AirFit™ F30 stayed secure all night for all participants!

The minimal contact mask design is perfect for CPAP users who wear glasses, or like to read or watch TV before bed. And the open field-of-view doesn’t cover the nasal bridge, so it’s a great mask choice if traditional full face masks give you a feeling of claustrophobia.

It also has fewer points of contact compared to other full face cushions, which means less irritation and no red marks, and the silicone mask cushion is soft and comfortable.

The F30 features Resmed’s QuietAir™ vent technology, making it quieter than even the Respironics Dreamwear full face mask, coming in at only 21 dBa. That’s thanks to the QuietAir™ elbow, which features multiple diffuser vents to quietly disperse exhaled air over a larger surface area, minimizing noise and helping both user and bed partner sleep more soundly. This is combined with Resmed’s popular quick-release elbow, which allows you to easily disconnect from your tube if you need to get up in the middle of of the night.

Putting on or taking off your mask is as easy as 2 clicks, with the convenient magnetic clips! You don’t have to fuss with re-adjusting your mask every time you take it off. Simply adjust the velcro headgear straps the first time, then the magnetic headgear clips ensure a perfect fit every time. Please note that headgear does not automatically come with the order. If you'd like your purchase to include headgear, please select your headgear option.

Resmed has simplified sizing with only 2 cushion sizes and one-size-fits-all headgear, yet the AirFit™ F30 full face mask offers a comfortable fit for most faces!

The Resmed AirFit™ F30 Full Face mask is compatible with the AirMini™ travel CPAP machine (with the F30 AirMini™ connector), so it’s also a great mask for travelers with sleep apnea.

Per Resmed, please note the following about this mask’s magnetic contraindications:

Update to Contraindication
In an update to the previously contraindicated metallic aneurysm hemostatic clips in the head and metallic splinters in one or both eyes following a penetrating eye injury, Resmed is further contraindicating the use of its masks with magnets for patients where they, or anyone in close physical contact while using the mask (e.g., bed partner), have the following:

  • Active medical implants that interact with magnets (i.e., pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD), neurostimulators, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) shunts, insulin/infusion pumps)
  • Metallic implants/objects containing ferromagnetic material (i.e., aneurysm clips/flow disruption devices, embolic coils, stents, valves, electrodes, implants to restore hearing or balance with implanted magnets, ocular implants, metallic splinters in the eye)

Update to Warning
The safe distance to the magnets has been increased from 2 inches (50 mm), and patients are now warned to keep the mask magnets at a safe distance of 6 inches (150 mm) away from implants or medical devices that may be adversely impacted by magnetic interference. This applies to patients, or anyone in close physical contact with the mask magnets.

Note, not all models or manufactured variants of medical devices listed in the contraindications are affected by external magnetic fields. Only those that interact with magnets or contain ferromagnetic materials present the potential for magnetic interference.

For more information: please reach out to Resmed directly; CPAPsupplies.com does not have any additional details on this update. Visit www.resmed.com/magnetupdate for more details and the appropriate contact information.
